I’ve loved video games all my conscious life, and it’s always been a dream to be a part of making one. But the opportunities never quite worked out, and parenting responsibilities kept me working in unrelated but financially-viable jobs. So for years, my dream remained as this blip in the horizon of life.
Then one day I heard my daughter singing this Disney song that I’ve never heard before. I sat down and watched the movie with her, learned the lyrics and got inspired to set out and chase the dream again.
I started hanging out at game development forums, watched YouTube tutorial videos while commuting to/from work, and played around with different game engines.
I want to make games. And if I have to do it myself, during my lunch breaks at work and at night after I put the kids to bed, then I’ll do just that! I don’t want to spend any longer wondering “what if”.
